A5196744 Brian is an exceptional 2-year-old black and tan neutered male German Shepherd who was surrendered by his owner to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on July 31st for unknown reasons. Weighing 70 lbs, Brian has all the qualities that make German Shepherds so popular as working dogs with real jobs to do. He already knows sit and is smart so we think he’s a good candidate for advanced training with someone experienced with the breed. Brian has an active mind and medium energy level that will require daily physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happy. Our volunteers report that he’s also a bit of an escape artist who tries to slip out of his kennel to see what’s going on around him, so he will need a securely fenced yard. He enjoys the Push/Pull playgroup with other large dogs and is recommended for homes where any kids are at least middle school-aged. Most important to keep him happy will be spending time with him in play and ideally with lots of training. We also suggest some highly durable chew toys to give him something to do at quiet times.
